With the weather being sunny and warm today, a gin and tonic isn’t completely out of place at this time of year. However, the grapefruit juice and zest make for a wonderful seasonal twist on this summer classic.

ST. GERMAIN GIN AND TONIC

4 cups ice, divided

1 1/2 ounces gin

1 ounce St. Germain

1 ounce fresh grapefruit juice

4 ounces tonic water

grapefruit zest, to garnish

In a cocktail shaker, combine 3 cups of ice, gin, St. Germain and grapefruit juice. Shake vigorously for 20 to 30 seconds.

Fill glass with remaining 1 cup of ice. Strain mixture into glass over ice. Stir in tonic water. Garnish with grapefruit zest.
